
What IS Sickle Cell Disease?
Sickle cell disease is a chronic genetic blood disorder that affects red blood cells. It can cause pain crises, serious infections, and possible strokes, and may lead to organ failure. There are more than 2,000 people living with the disease in Mississippi alone.
